Self-installation
SAFEGATE Systems should only be installed, maintained and removed by trained personnel. If you’d like to achieve greater flexibility with on-site workflow and provide your operatives with the opportunity to become trained personnel, certified in the installation and removal of SAFEGATE systems, contact us now.
CJS Safety Systems provides specialised training in proprietary edge protection systems to companies across the UK via the Safegate product specific training. This course can be run alongside a fully CITB-certified Edge Protection Federation(EPF) Operatives course if required. Completing both courses allows the trained operative to apply for the ‘Specialist Work at Height’ Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card.
The Safegate Product specific course is approximately 3½ hours in duration and will ensure your operatives are competent in retaining high health and safety standards in the workplace in the installation and removal of SAFEGATE systems. The EPF course is an additional 3½ hours.
CJS Safety Systems Ltd offers training in Warwickshire at their facilities, but are prepared to travel across the country if you’re unable to reach them.
Our SAFEGATE trainer will ensure your operatives work in compliance with health and safety standards by offering an in-depth session on safety requirements, responsibilities and equipment. Furthermore, there will be demonstrations and the opportunity for your operatives to become familiar with the SAFEGATE system and its capabilities before a short assessment to certify your operatives.
On completion of the training course and relevant registration documentation, your operatives will be officially certified to install and remove the SAFEGATE system for 12 months. They will be issued competency cards that are archived and updated to develop an auditable competency paperwork trail for your business.

FAQs
How can I Train to Install Safegate Systems Myself?
If you’d like to train to become a certified Safegate installer, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We’re happy to train your staff in our personal training facility in Warwickshire, or we can travel to your facility to conduct training there. We will hold a 3½ hour session and allow time for your team to demonstrate their skills before conducting a short test on each of your employees. Once these tests are complete and passed, you will be certified as a Safegate operative.
How Long Will I be Certified to Install and Remove Safegate Systems After Training?
Once you have completed training, you will be Safegate certified for 12 months. Once the 12-month period is over, you must apply for re-certification to safely install safety gates again. Can Safegate Install the Systems for me?
Yes! If you’d prefer to not install the Safegate yourself, we have a highly-trained team of experienced operatives who can install the gate for you.
